• Media, film and photography

The media, filmmakers and photographers capture those fleeting moments, communicate messages and build relationships in attractive ways. In our practice as well, we strive to present our legal analyses in ways that are clearly understandable. Moreover, with our long experience, we know what solutions work best.

Copyright protects people’s creative works as manifested in photographs, graphic art, advertisements, films, television programmes, and more. It also secures the organisational and financial effort that goes into making such works.

In our media law practice, we help draw up and negotiate agreements, including commission agreements, agreements with performing artists (actors), publishing agreements, license agreements, production agreements and economic copyright transfer agreements.

Our clients can count on our support at every stage of content creation - from evaluating their projects to assistance in dispute situations. Every day we deal with problems concerning the use of the personality rights and creative works of other people, trademarks, and company designations. We conduct audits of the correctness and effectiveness of copyright agreements.

We assist film producers, from performing legal analyses of film scripts, to agreements with authors, artists, co-producers and distributors. We advise our clients in their relations with the Polish Film Institute and take part in negotiations with contractual partners, bringing our experience to bear at every stage of production.

We give practical advice and prepare legal opinions in matters related to media law, including copyright.

We know how collective management organisations work and are experienced at working with them.

We represent our clients before the courts and other public authorities, and conduct mediation and settlement talks.

We conduct specialised training, including on the legal aspects of film production, the specifics of agreements with performing artists, and copyright in photography.

Our clients include: television and radio broadcasters, film producers, advertising agencies, talent agencies, photographers, graphic artists, directors, screenwriters, set designers, costume designers, actors, models, and internet service owners and users.

We represent a number of photographers in copyright disputes. We protect our clients’ rights on the internet, and also respond to infringements that appear in print. We provide comprehensive assistance to photographers fighting for their rights - from the moment an infringement is detected until compensation is obtained. Our clients include Poland’s leading specialists in aerial photography.
